Just curious how many generations it is from homo sapian to home-<x> on the family tree. they always quote these in term of years. I was curious how many generation it takes for a new species to evolve by counting generations instead of years.
How many generations (cycles of birth and death) is modern man from his various anciester species?

Students who claim to believe the theory of evolution do a lot of shucking and jiving when you ask such a reasonable question. Many or most workers in biology fields consider evolution to be "the elephant in the living room" -- you can't move it, so you just work around it.
