I asked the police for a welfare check, and was informed that one would not be given. Then, officers took a phone from my hands without permission, used the phone to send a text, entered my residence without a warrant, and arrested me to a detention at a mental hospital.
At the hospital I was forced to sign documents I didn't agree to. I asked for a lawyer and the one I was appointed refused to perform most of his duties of attorney. The judge I spoke with refused to listen to my testament, and the hospital refused to release me to the second hearing. I was threatened, and assaulted by both staff members and patients at the hospital.
I filed a claim with the city of Austin, and, weeks ago, a supervisor informed me that the investigation process would take a week. The investigator assigned to my claim didn't give me a claim number until today, and told me it could take months to investigate my claim (although it's all documented).
How long does it take to receive compensation for false imprisonment in Texas?
