I got my gallbladder removed over almost three years ago and still have to rush to the bathroom after every time I eat. How long does it usually take for that to stop? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening?

in some instances it probably depends on the individual who had this done and what type of surgery it was here are the two different kinds two main ways of removing the gall bladder laparoscopic key hole and and open cholecystectomy this is most common type of operation to remove your gallbladder it involves using a tiny camera and surgical instruments that are inserted through small cuts in your abdomen in open cholecystectomy the gallbladder is removed through one large incision open surgery its more invasive operation then keyhole surgery you need to be in the hospital alot longer to recover laparoscopic takes 2 weeks to heal and can ease back into normal activities within 3 weeks total the open cholecystectomy 3-5 days in the hospital 6 weeks or longer for this open surgery if there are any complications it could take longer
