It is all according just how much yeast you use. Where you leave the container, say a warm window sill or in a warm oven. Usually the time will vary from 30 minutes to 45 minutes.
Pizza dough is kept cool for 24 hours to let the yeast develop a good flavor. sourdough is allowed to rise for a week or more for the same reason. Home made bread usually rises an hour or so, depending on temperature.
