The Beatles stayed together for 8 years in its most famous cast with John, Paul George and Ringo. However, the name 'Beatles' did already exist when Ringo, the last, joined in 1962. The name was made up in 1960 by John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe, who was in the band then too. The Beatles broke up in 1970.
