How is the percentage of divorced american couples determined?

We live in a world where people pay too much money to intrude and be nosey in everyones life. Like off of Mr Deeds the way she tricked him just to get stories for her paper to get a paycheck. People get paid to happen by documents and files to give to someone else who wanted to know the answer to a question that really doesnt matter but seems to effect some peoples thoughts. Its weird cuz ireally just had this conversation with my dad because they lost my parents marriage papers from over 30 years ago. He was saying people come up with ways to get into others minds and influence their decisions they make in life.like (random as hell i know) supposed to slow done for a yellow light, know the percentage of people who actually follow that law? Its alot less that the ones who hit the gas lol.
