That might be any number. The pioneers considered a day's walk to be 12 miles, or 24 miles on a horse. When Olive Oatman was captured by Apache Indians, she recorded that they marched her 250 miles in 80 hours, and that included time spent sleeping, slaughtering animals, and eating.
