I know it can't allow thor to fly like in the movies but how much of the thor movies is accurate to the mythology, specifically in regards to thor's Hammar Mjolnir?
According to the Prose Edda, Thor can use it to kill anybody. In addition, if Thor were to throw the hammer it would not miss, and it can always return to his hand. The handle is very short on accident, but allows for powerful close range combat.
I couldn't have explained it better than the previous user. But one thing that is completely different between the marvel movies and the actual mythology is that Mjolnir wasn't forged from a "dying star" but instead by two dwarf brothers.
