Okay so I know this sounds stupid and as a University student, I feel stupid but I know how America was formed. What I don't know is how the population grew to be larger than a country that is a lot older. Was it just due to more children being born or is there something else to it?
How does the USA have a bigger population than the UK? Is it just simple as more children or?

Every family needs a house and ground to grow food, so the area of a nation sets a maximum on population. Some cities exceed that limit by hauling groceries from other places. If there were no need for garden space, the entire world population could live in Texas with the same density as New York City.

200 years of 10 to 20 kids per family. My parents had eight.
Ahh that's what I thought, just wasn't sure if it was that simple
Yes okay I know that, but I'm curious how America got to that size so quickly? How did a country younger than others suddenly surpass them in terms of population?
