When people cheer in the background, or stomp/clap their hands really loud. Will it distract someone so that they can't swing that bat or take that step?
How does someone clapping affect someones baseball performance?

Can something so simple really turn someones head and confuse them?

There is a possiblility that it could distract the player, but the main point behind cheering and clapping is showing your support of the team and player. " We respect you and think you are doing a great job."
But, honestly players don't really hear much of crowd. You are so absorbed in the game and fulfilling your duty you don't hear the cheers until later.
I'm a baseball player and I was playing a championship game on my birthday so I know what it deals like
It depends on what your doing at the time
1. Hitting a tiny bit distracting but I got me really excited and happy feeling
2.pitching really distracting
3 fielding dosnt distract me
4 catching not to much just when your trying to yell defensive positions and I gets drained out by the noise
