How does Aristotle deal with the problem that people disagree about the noble and the just things?

Two thousand years after he lived, his name is still a synonym for "arrogant jerk". For two thousand years people did not study philosophy, they studied Aristotle. In his mind the only sensible way to settle any disagreement was to ask some superb specimen of the human race such as himself.
