My teeth is a little crooked and my friends suggest that I get a veneer. Is this a good idea, what exactly does a veneer do? Is it similar to braces?
How does a veneer work?

Braces are metal or clear thin aligners or retainer. Braces treat problems, such as gaps, uneven spaces and crowded misalignment. But veneers do not correct any of these. Rather they hide gaps, uneven teeth, irregular shaped teeth, chipped or broken teeth and other misalignment. They also hide teeth discoloration caused by medicine, root canals and fillings.
The main disadvantage of braces is the time taken to correct teeth. Braces usually take more than a year and eating can be difficult during this time. Food may get stuck inside your braces and chewing will become difficult. While in case of veneer you won’t have any problem with eating but then your teeth will never be the same. The dentists remove a portion of enamel so that the adhesive can bond to teeth. Teeth are reshaped so the veneers can fit. Tooth decay is possible because of the loss of enamel and reshaping. Veneers also cost more that braces.
My dentist Dr. Ken Wolch is a specialist on veneers and he has many patients coming in for the same. So consider all these factors, talk to your dentist and decide on what to do.
Usually, the veneers are nothing but wafer-thin that are made of tooth-colored materials and designed to cover the front surface of teeth. The use of dental veneer covers the front surface of teeth and improves the appearance of a person, who prefers using dental veneers. For having any more detailed information, you must consult with some experts, who have adequate knowledge regarding all such aspects.
