An essay is a collective of paragraphs on a specific topic. You describe the topic in a more profound way and make small paras with some details.
Suppose there's an essay on "family". First of all you write a few lines what family is, then you make a para with what your family is like, another para about what family does to man/society etc, another para on how an ideal family should be like etc. This is how you elaborate the topic more. There's always a word limit, so you abide by it of course.

How did you manage to write it? I am really curious how it went and what your solution was. I am too late to answer, but I wanted to tell you that it is a good idea to find the similar essay and try to paraphrase it . Additionally, you may use online grammar checkers or give it to your friend who can have a fresh look at your work.
