How do you classify natural resources?

Natural resources are substances that occur naturally and are considered valuable in the relatively unaltered/unmodified form. They are classified typically by renewability and non-renewability. Examples: Renewable resources (normally living resources such as animals)
Flow renewable (these are similar to renewable but do not need regeneration such as power sources like solar and geothermal)
Non-Renewable (cannot be regrown/regenerated/remade, though some can be reneweable, it just takes a long time)

They may also be classified as biotic or abiotic.
