I have been thinking of getting an Alienware area 51 triad, though there is one thing I can't figure out: How exactly do the triple graphics cards function? Do they function together? (Like the three video signals being tied into one output) Or do they work separately? (i.e. having three different video signals?) If you look on the back of the computer, you can see video outputs for all three graphics cards. (though this could possibly mean only one output is active...) But I am unsure.

If you can afford that and don't know how it works then it's not important for you to understand it. Much like people who buy apple products. Why don't you try googling for the information and then ask a detailed question if you don't understand something they explain.
Yes there are:

Actually, I have already tried looking all over Google, but there are simply no answers. I just want to know if the graphics cards function as one. There are no articles that give any sort of detailed information about this.
