How do I use the partucle theroy of matter to explain why latex paint dissolves in water?

You may say that latex paint is water solluble. Thats why it can dissolve in water. But explaining how it works using particle theory is different matter.
The particle theory says that there are spaces between all particles. In water, there are spaces between the water particles. The particles in latex paint are the same; there are empty spaces between the latex paint particles. When latex paint dissolves, the particles break apart. These particles mix with the small water particles. The small water particles fit in the spaces between the latex paint particles.
