Changing from an Android phone is confusing me and I am wondering how I download apps like games and socail media on a Nokia Lumia mobile?

Almost every non-Apple smartphone should have the Play Store pre-installed on it, but if it doesn't, just use the Web Browser on your phone, and use Google search to find and download the Play Store. From the Play Store, you can download your apps.
You can also use Google itself to search for and download apps for your phone. There are several websites out there that allow you to do that, such as 9apps.com.
