I mean you'd think it would be easy, but I'm scared they might not approve, after all I'm only 13, and to get the equipment we need money, which we don't have, we were thinking about having an audition after school, when school starts, but that would mean we have to tell our parents, and than we thought about entering a contest for money, but if we win we have to tell our parents, my mom knows but I don't think she thinks I'm serious and I don't know if my mom told my dad and we need an adult to carry the money. Also my friends parents might not approve and want her to go to medical school instead, when she wants to make a band just as much as me! What do we do?!

Hey Izzy,
I think it's great that you guys are starting a band! Remember it's important to always persue your passion, no matter what your parents think. It may be hard for you, but you'll have to tell your parents eventually, and even if they don't approve at first, you'll have to make them realise how much it means to you. As for your friend, she'll have to chose if she really wants to do music, don't make any rash decisions, but always reach for your dream :)
I think you should tell your parents. They can't refuse you.My parents are exagerated as well but when it comes to something like that they could't refuse. Anyway if it happens that they don't want this just tell them to let you try;that you've got nothing to lose if you try. They'll understand.
