I am a blue belt in taekwondo and whenever I do my forms (or poomse)
The masters always tell to relax during it and not be too stiff. I tried breathing in and out, loosening myself, and other things. Please help me.
How do I relax during my poomse (poomse is taekwondo forms)?

Imagine a ball of energy in the pit of your stomach. When you develop your pumsae imagine the energy travelling from your stomach to the furthest point of extension. Concentrate on the energy and not your form, allow your body to fold to the form of the energy and not allow the form to fold the body. The whole idea behind "relaxing" is to allow the form to hold you not your muscles and the form comes from the "ki", the energy that drives the form and gives it its strength. Once you degin to embrace your "ki" you'll find your form improving and yourself relaxing.
I'm an aikidoka and ki is very important for us for just the reason described above. If you still have trouble relaxing I advise you to talk to your Sensei, Sempai or instructor about developing your ki.
I wish you success in your learning.
