I just got my first period today. I am nervous to tell my mom. Now it is bedtime and I don't know how to protect myself. HELP ME!!
I am a very shy person. I can't just tell my mom "I just started my period!"

I am going horseback riding tomorrow. Should I just put on a pad and saddle up? ( I know where my moms pads are!:p)
do it but your mom is like lets say your secret diary you should tell your mom every thing i do and it takes it of my chest .

Ok so I haven't had my period yet but I am not telling my mom no way it's my privacy she does not need to know I have a right to keep it to myself. They sell day pads and night pads for sleeping and you wear it during the night but I totally am on your side just think and do what ever you want.
Cowgirl, talk to your mom, grandmother or aunt. This is not that big of a deal, after all it's not rocket science.
That's exactly what I did when I got mine. How I told my mom was saying how we've learned different thing this year in health and there's something that apllied to me that I learned and she started asking things like, is it about sex? Or a bunch of other things. Then I said, mom it's about the "thing" that girls get. End of sentence. And then she understood me. She had pads and things so it was okay. You need to tell her. In any way you can. Somehow get the message to her.

I also just got my period today and it's almost time for me to go to bed. I'm planning on texting my mom, or telling her to come into my room and telling her. I'm gonna start off with "How old were you when you had your first period?" Hopefully this is helpful, and I'm hoping that she picks up on it. :)
Can someone help me Im 13 and started my period today at school. I already had a talk with my mum and she bought me pads and since I started high school I always brought 1 with me incase I get it. Hey,I'm not sure if this is old or recent but as a young lady you get scared and then exited at the same time,Your becoming a women and embrace that forget what guys think or what other people think believe it or not when your mom was your age she probably experienced the same thing and it's okaaaay to be shy and hesitate if you haven't already told her,write her a note decorate it with red hearts,and slip it in her purse or under the bathroom door wheb shes using it lol I think you should try the bathroom since us girls spend a lot of time in there
