So, typically all my friends (Including myself) have earbuds in. However, most of my friends can hear me clearly despite having both in their ears. How do they do this? I can clearly hear their songs playing, so the music cant be low.
How do I listen past my earbuds?

Just to clarify, the quality of the earbuds vary. A couple of my friends use the apple earpods, while someone else has these $200+ pair that seems to block sound extremely well. So the quality of the earbuds does not seem to be the answer.

Normally you'd take one earbud out, but since they can hear you with both in... well. If you can hear their music easily, then the quality of their earbuds might not be too good, meaning that sound can pass through the earbuds both ways. Try focusing more on their voice when they talk and face them so you can read their lips.
Well, a couple of them have those apple ones, but my bff has these good ones that block out like most noise, yet she talks just fine with them in.
