to answer this question you need to put more info about what type computer are you using, what type dvd player do you have or is it a cd player instead of a dvd player? are the disk dirty, have you cleaned the disk player. let me know

It's an HP lap top computer only 1 year old. The DVD is brand new. The DVD player is an HP remote drive for the Lap Top. All other DVD's work well except this one.

Ok, THe only other thing that could cause this is the code the your reader is able to read. DVD's are made using different type codes or codecs and they are added more with the change of electronic components. id the dvd is written with a code that your dvd player can't read then you are out of luck!
