She is right, once people get involved it tends to ruin things.. Give her time because there's clearly some insecurities so cater to her wishes.. But after a certain point you should be able to tell your friends.. Maybe she's waiting til the 2 of you are at a good point. (Not saying that there is trouble between u 2 cuz I don't know) just be careful why she is tryna keep you 2 a secret tho..
If you haven't already, sit with her and let her tell you all the rumours and the truth.. Don't judge her because past is past, let her know no matter what you will be there for her and you love her. Once shes more comfortable it shouldn't be a problem to tell people.
