Am African and I wanted to join highschool but my parents won't let me join because they thought I would have been bullied because of my accent. Instead I got my GED but I still wish to go back to highschool.

Well if you have GED, congrats! That's the equivalent of a High School Diploma and is treated the same way! However, if you are feeling less than confidant about your knowledge, there are adult learning classes out there, do some research into your local area. Otherwise, a College degree might be something to look into, or some training at a vocational school. And who cares about your accent? If you can speak English that's more than most people can. I grew up in the North but I know live in the South and I can tell you no one makes fun of anyone's accent. And in the rare case someone does, just ignore them. They're just taking out there own insecurities on you. It might help to show you mom my answer.
