Hi,
I am an american with a family home in Kwabenya, near Accra. My son is in a boarding school and will graduate next year.
You need to fill out applications and hopefully you have good grades. Be very careful in Ghana about all the schools and make sure they are registered and accredited by the government. Be very careful about accepting financial aid to pay for books and tuition.
When I was in Accra recently, I noticed many billboards and posters that seemed to be not possible about offering things that can't be. Go apply to a government approved, accredited college of your choice. When accepted, figure out a way to pay the cost or consider doing internship jobs.
Keep in mind if too good to be true, there is something wrong and follow what your heart and mind tells you.
I love Ghana and wish I could fix everything. One little thing I can fix might be to help you not be tricked into spending money on broken promises and dreams that you see everywhere you go. Check with the government, make sure accredited, and somehow find your way.
The sort of "international school" you want is either US, UK, EU, AU approved if you want to work abroad. There is so much to be done in Ghana, I'm wondering why anyone would think of leaving.
If I had my way, I'de live in Kwabenya, enjoy my house, feed my chickens, goats,
and sheep, enjoy the sea breeze, the view of Accra. Look around, and be very sure that "international school" is really for you. More money is not everything when you live in a place so rich with people that work hard and somehow find a way that astounds me to do what seems impossible.
Consider staying in Ghana and making your home a better place. Ghana is great! The people are wonderful! The weather suits my taste. Be very careful about deciding to leave.
