yeah but what do I say?
How do I bring it up?
Just say, hey mom, I want to be a vegetarian.
I would suggest doing a bunch of research about being a vegetarian. Make sure you do research about protein, because that is what parents are mainly concerned about. Just sit your mom down and tell her you want to be a vegetarian, and then state your reasons. That is what i said to my mom. I said "Mom, I want to be a vegetarian. I don't like the way animals are being treated in the slaughter house. I learned that being a vegetarian can help you live longer and keep you in shape. Also, it can help prevent illnesses and infections." Then tell her about protein sources and meat substitutes. When I did this, my mom said yes, and my mom eats meat 24/7 so i am pretty sure it will work for you. If not, wait a few months and try again, but with different information. Good Luck! :)
Don't just straight- out say it to your mom, because then she is more likely to say no. Sorry toby42 i just don't agree with that answer. my friend tried doing it that way and her parents immediately said no to her.
I agree with toby :)
