I want to know how both the hardware and the software of a computer work, and how they work together to run the computer. Right now I don't really know anything about this, but I would like to get a really deep, complex answer.
Would be nice if I could someone could recommend good sites to learn this kind of stuff from (for free), I'm really interested in it but everyone just ignores me and shuns me for asking these questions.
Well, first you have basic electronics and you can learn a lot of that in, say, three months. It's good to know a few things, but that work is mostly done in foreign countries now. Here is a free course: www.phy.davidson.edu/instrumentation/NEETS.htm
Next you have basic symbolic logic, and you can learn all you need of that in a few minutes. Well, maybe a whole day.
Then you have programming. I suggest you go to makezine.com and see what you can find. There are a few inexpensive computers such as Raspberry Pi that are ok for beginners. Then you can google "4dos" and "wasm assembler" to learn x86 programming. When you are pretty good at that you can get a C++ compiler and you are in the big time then.
