I know everyone has a different way of finding peace with putting down a pet. Our GSD is 13 and she has a lot going on. I know there is no right or wrong answer here. I was hoping to get some suggestions or experiences anyone else has had.
A little more info on Abbey girl. She has mucus in her kidney and gallbladder, a orange sized splenic mass, and her dysplasia limits her mobility. She has recently began urinating on herself. She has been treated with most of this with oral meds but surgery is out of our financial reach. The Emergency vet that treated her last seems to want to push more oral meds, but we can't afford to do much else for her. How do I know when to let go? Would a vet push us to treat her even if we should let her go?
How did you know when to let your pet go?

I tend to agree with you, but the vet that is treating her is suggesting we continue treatment. I have brought up euthanasia to them, but they don't seem to want to pursue that option. I hate to think that they would do that for financial gain, but I also can't really argue with a professional. I think we may change vets to get a second opinion. Thank you so much for your input and support. This is very difficult for us. My husband has had this dog since he was in elementary school, and I have been her mom for five years now.
