Ok. So I'm 12 years old and I really love Soul Eater. I've been a fan since 4th grade and I've wanted a shirt since then. But 1 problem, my parents are always making fun of me for liking anime and it makes me really mad. Also, my mom will freak out if I tell her I want to buy an anime shirt. How can I tell my parents that there's nothing wrong with anime and also allow me to buy a shirt?

Well bro ask them what is the problem with ur so called amine shirt. Sometimes in life we love to have something and so is ur case with ur amine shirt.U r not asking for a hero-honda bike bt jst a dream shirt which u want to wear. That's it! Convince them bro convince them.
Okay, first things first--tell your parents there's nothing wrong with liking what you like, and to prove that, in buying merchandise of what in particular interesting. I myself liked Soul Eater and I think the only person on Earth who'd buy me merch would be my dad. What I think you need to do here is save up your own money and impress your parents if you can--what I mean is completely on your own. To convince them liking anime is kinda as causal as liking Doctor Who or something.
Now my parents don't make fun of my anime interest, they just...think it's for children? Yup, that must be it.
RULE NUMBER ONE OF ANIME & MANGA FANS: Unless you're watching Disney Channel anime is not for itsy-bitsy children(or for kind who take the plot seriously).
I mean it's entertainment! You watch Soul Eater because it has caught your attention with everything it has to offer, right? Someone has taken their time in adapting manga into detailed and beautiful animation while some other people just think it's for babies.
Anime is a good thing. Somebody's money comes from that, or even entertainment. It doesn't matter how much pride you have with merch--but how seriously you take anime and manga. As long as you love Soul Eater, you're in that fandom my friend.
To your parents: grab 'em and watch an episode or two of a good anime that someone has taken their time on. Ask them, did they like the plot? The story? Does it seem realistic? Exactly. That is what anime is. Some things just can't be filmed, and animation takes its place. Anime represents real-life, even if it's crazy as One Piece or, as you said was your favorite, Soul Eater. You don't see the characters bonking people with pans every two seconds or doing things in a special way so children can perceive, and if it is done, it is done for the sake of humor. The characters have realistic feelings! (See "My Little Monster" it's a good, realistic and romantic anime) I hope your parents one day realize anime is a work of art, not some thing people are wasting their life watching. Have a good day!
(Wow i wrote alot how is anyone gonna read dis?!)
True, but my parents also think that it's freaky, too. Same with my friends
