How did the allies win WW2?

you need to remember tehre were sort of 2 wars going on at once, hitler's germany was trying to take over europe and the japanese were fighting to take over the pacific. at this time america refused to join the war and were making tonnes of money selling weapons to the allies.

Darwin, Australia was bombed, we asked america to help us, they said no we're staying out of it. then pearl harbour was bombed and that basically starts the end of the war in the pacific. america was mad and went after Japan and drove them out of the pacific. then they helped the allies in Europe to defeat the nazi's.

basically germany was fighting on all fronts, they had invaded France (who pretty much sat down and didn't fight) but england was fighting them in france and the nazi's were also bombing london and they were fighting Russia on the Eastern border, so their army was spread pretty thin which is strategically bad. once japan was defeated Australian and American forces who had been fighting in the pacific were able to go help fight in Europe and soon defeated the nazi's.

so important points economically are america was making a fortune selling weapons to the allies while they weren't involved in the war. everyone else was pretty poor, london was being bombed so that's a big problem for england economically.

politically everyone is using propaganda, hitler blaming the jews, england to keep everyone's morale high and to bag hitler etc. so there's lots of posters and pamphletes you can use as examples

strategically, the nazi's were spread too thin by the end, they couldn't move soldiers from the front against russia to the one in France, it would have taken weeks so when one side started pushing them back towards germany there wasn't a lot they could do. japan made a huge mistake bombing pearl harbour, australia was one of america's strongest allies and when we were bombed they didn't help us so japan thought they could bomb pearl harbour and get away with it but in fact it changed the out come of the whole war. and that's pretty much all the important points. for more info look up the ANZAC website and other armies, google will find tonnes of good sites for you. enjoy it though, it's a really interesting topic!
