I'm writing a story, and it's set around 1910. I want a girl to that lives in an apartment to have a source of drinking water, but I don't want it to come from electricity. So no faucets or refrigerators. Thank you!
How did people store water in the early 1900s?

She could have a pipe coming from the guttering on the roof that feeds down into a small tank in the kitchen. She only drinks fresh crisp rainwater..
She could carry it from a well outside and up the stairs and pour it into a tank/jug/container
She could keep a camel in the bedroom with a hose tap she has crudely installed into its hump as she was a drop out 1st year practicing veterinarian student. She could walk it once a month and it drinks water from the river and stores it and then she walks it back to the apartment. His name is Barry.
She keeps a bucket on the window cill that collects rain
