I am looking at green energy systems for both domestic central heating and water heating. I would like to hear the views of anyone who has installed a home ASHP system with comments on how efficient they are finding it. Are the running costs significantly less than gas/oil/electric systems, and how reliable are they during periods of prolonged winter weather?
Many thanks in anticipation of someones help.- JMc
How cost effective are air source heat pumps [ASHP] for domestic central heating?

Generally a good conductor of electricity is great for heating applications
Copper is great, copper filled with water amazing, black steel good, black steel used for hydronics is great also and so is cast iron as cast iron radiators hold the heat lot better because of its mass
Air is terrible aka scorched air heating as air is considered an insulator.
Also when the fan stops work the heated air dissipates in a few minutes
It is always better to have a separate system for air conditioning and one for heating depending on what state or country your in
