How come I can't put the playlist from my old ipod onto my new ipod?

I have a brand new 32gb ipod touch and I'm trying to put the playlist from my old ipod also 32gb. The old ipod has 3360 songs on it. When I try to sync the new ipod it says I'm over capacity by 5gb. Can someone help me out?

Strait of Internet websites- ur old iPod may not meet quality standards. Or you need a cord to connect to a computer or similar device, then u may be able To transfer songs.

Your new iPod might have less memory than the older one. This seems crazy, but the new software updates need more memory than the older ones. If you have installed more apps on your new iPod than on your old one, that could also cause the problem.
