How can the SAT and the ACT help your application for college?

The test results help colleges compare the level of knowledge of students from different schools and from different regions of the country. A good test score is not a guarantee that you will be accepted into a college, because grades and recommendations are also considered for admission. However, many colleges do have minimum SAT and ACT scores, and if your score is lower, your application will not even be considered.
