After I upload photos and videos from my camera to my computer they are automatically sorted into folders entitled with the date they were taken. I started to cut and paste them all into one folder but I stopped because I wasn't sure if I could still view the date it was taken. Is there a way I can do this and put them all into the same folder? I'm running windows 10 and using a Canon camera.

What do you mean by "automatically sorted"? How does the automatic sorter know what date the pic was taken? The computer normally only knows the date a file was created.
Go to www.tucows.com/downloads and choose an exif editor so you can see what info is recorded in each pic.
