I am 19 year old girl. My 23 year old brother died a month ago. I don't understand why/ how this could be part of God's "plan".. He has taken my parent's first born and my only brother.. It's not like my family is full bad people, its not like we have done anything to deserve this.. its not like my brother did anything to deserve to die.. My family is full of good people who are very caring and generous christian family, including my brother,,,

I'm so sorry about your loss:( First of all, when I was in third grade I lost my cousin in a car accident. We were really close and it killed me. Since I was In third grade I didn't really think about the whole God part, but I have now. God never does things to punish us or to teach us a lesson because we did something bad. God loves all of us and grieves with us when something like this happens. I know it might be hard to see right now but God brings good things out of bad things. My mom for example learned a lot from this, and yes I would bring her back in a heartbeat, but it's not going to get worse. If you ask God for help He WILL help you through this. God brings us closer to Him when things like this happen. We weren't made to walk our paths alone. So my answer is, God didn't make this happen, He wouldn't do ANYTHING to hurt us. You CAN trust Him. Right now you need Him more than anything else. He will show you that good can come out of bad. Just look at Jesus' life. He died for us so we could go to Heaven, but He rose and now your brother can be in Heaven with Him. I really hope this helps, please tell me if it does
i am from Australia and only 30 percent of Australians believe in religion, and iam one of those who have no religion. but i and most of us still have to deal with the grief of losing loved ones. just take comfort from the fact that your brother was a loving and lovable person, carry him in your heart with love and live your life the best you can for him, cause were ever he is the last thing he would want is to see his little sister hurting. take every minute by minute and it will make sense in time, with or without god
The Bible, an ancient book of wisdom, provides answers to life’s important questions and can help you to feel better and have a sense of well-being. Consider some questions that it answers.
1. Is there a Creator? The Bible says that God “created all things.” (Revelation 4:11) As our Creator, God knows what we need to feel good and to find fulfillment in life.
2. Does God care about me? Rather than portraying God as aloof from mankind, the Bible says: “He is not far off from each one of us.” (Acts 17:27) He is interested in what happens to you and wants to help you succeed in life.—Isaiah 48:17, 18; 1 Peter 5:7.
3. How can knowing God help me to feel better? God created us with a “spiritual need,” an innate hunger to understand the meaning and purpose of life. (Matthew 5:3) Our spiritual need also includes a desire to know our Creator and to have a relationship with him. God will welcome your efforts to get to know him, for the Bible says: “Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.”—James 4:8.
Millions of people have found that building a friendship with God has improved their overall well-being and shown them how to feel good about their lives. While knowing God will not make your life trouble-free, his wisdom found in the Bible can help you to
- Have a happier family life.
- Enjoy peace with others.
- Deal with problems as varied as depression, stress about money, and chronic illness.
If you understand what the Bible really says, it will help you to get to know God.
I'm glad to help :)

I'm sorry for your loss, I know how you feel because I lost my older brother to cancer. But God (Jehovah) didn't allow it. You have to go way back to Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God and ate the fruit. This put a mark of death on all mankind eventually leading to man only living some to old age others to sickness etc. The God I know promises us all a resurrection of our loved ones in the future. (John 5;2829) So our brothers are just sleep for now until Jehovah awakens them to life on a peaceful new earth where crime, wars, sickness and death will be gone forever. Psalm 72: 7) Jehovah allows these things to take place because his time frame and thinking is not like mans. He's giving mankind time to see how much they need him in the end, because so many people forget him. So don't think God is cruel or not caring, he loves us all, but promised us a resurrection to life to a much better earth. He just wants us to obey him and do his will.
I am very sorry about the death of your dear brother. Please accept my belated condolences. You have asked a very good question, one that many have asked.
I have found that in order to trust someone, you have to get to know that person. You have to find out their likes and dislikes. You would need to know how they treat you and others. This and many other details about that person will determine whether or not they are trustworthy. The same example or principle applies when it comes to putting your trust in the Creator of all things, Jehovah.
The Bible encourages all to get to know God and the one He sent forth, Jesus Christ. By doing your trust and love for God will grow by leaps and bounds (John 17:3).
