My daughter was born with epilepsy and it wasn't diagnosed until she went through so many different types of medication that were not really working until she got referred to UCLA. She was 9 years old at the time.
She is now 11. She tries to be independent but I still have to shower her, comb her hair, brush her teeth (she doesn't do a good job by herself), put on her clothes (it's always backwards to include the socks), wipe herself good after the restroom (I always have to stand by her to do it).
She can wipe her mess up, pour her drink into a cup, make herself a peanut butter sandwich, pick up her toys, and so on.
