I need to plug in an ac plug and have it rigged so that it plugs into something to give it power under a table without having to plug it directly to a wall socket
That depends on what it is and how much power it needs. You can use a 12 volt battery and an inverter, but if your little whizbanger draws a lot of power, the equipment would be big and heavy.
