i do not think you can. the friction force Fr = μN=μmg depends on μ which is specific to any individual surface. So the only way would be to try to determine it by experiment - you take a ball, see how much plastic deformation it has (by experiment), then you apply a force on the ball and measure the distance it rolled. Having all those you will be able to determine an average Fr of the lawn surface
I don't know how to measure plastic deformation. However, I did apply a force to the ball (84 foot lb) and it hardly moved at all.
