Click the circle symbol in the lower left corner of the screen. You can search for a file name, or display a list of all installed programs, or go to preselected folders. Spend some time clicking menus to see what you can do and where to find things. For example you can click on "Control Panel" and then "Programs And Features" to get a list of everything you have installed. Click on the top where it says "Install" and the list will be sorted by date of installation. Every time you download any program you should look at that list to see if anything has been installed without your permission. Google any names you don't recognize. Click on any name you don't want and it will be uninstalled.
You should do the same in every program you get: click all the menus and learn the business.
