I just really need some general advice on how to set and stick to some life change goals. I've always been a night owl. But staying up until 4:30 AM when I have to work the next day (or at all) is so unacceptable. i have tried many times to change my sleep habits, even setting alarms, but in the moment whatever I'm doing always comes out as more appealing to me than sleep, and I suffer for it in the end.

I get bad nightmares sometimes, and have never really had a consistent sleep schedule, even when I try to make changes. What can I do to ensure that I stick to my goals and make a real change to my sleep schedule?? How do I convince myself every night to hit the hay when it's time? I know this is childish, but I'm desperate.
