It has affected his life expectancy, he will not live a long life. I hope he does, I really really do and there are many people who do go on to live a long life but 3.. 3 major operations, either the guy has some serious heart problems that are congenital (born with them) or he is simply not learning any life lessons and continuing to contribute to his own ill health... kinda like the lung cancer survivor who won't give up smoking you know. If he dies young, yeah, it's hard and it'll crush you but there arae a lot of people there to help you through it and even if you have no family and friends around the organisations who deal with things like that can do a lot of the leg work for you.
Bottomline is you can't help him if he won't help himself and secondly you shoudn't be beating yourself up about it, he's probably already worrying about you himself... YOU have to put on a strong brave face and deal with stuff, time to grow up a bit and pull on a pair. You cannot be so selfabsorbed when he is going through this or you'll make it worse for the both of you.
Thanks but he had something had something really wrong with his heart his lucky to be alive but he still has to have a heart operation every 10 years you see and his a dad to a large family
