I know the basic rules. But I haven't played chess for 10 years. Now I'm ambitious to be a good player. How can I do it? Because I know, without receiving advices, I may be easily defeated. I may be fooled of.

*you should start with a good plan for ur studing..try *chess courses sign in an *online chess website
*try to copy champions
*try to understand chess theory (chess confirms math like every another thing)
*try to draw ur mind map (how to thinking in chess) and make your way
anyways losing is not a shame

try to achieve winning of losing
u can use 'my system' of aron nimzowitsch to learn his system and copy
ofcourse u need to take time but dont make it hard for urself and have fun with it( idont mean dont take much time)
but know that it will take much time to become a master(depends on student)
