The copyright law is what protects people's individual ideas from being stolen or used without permission of the owner. So if I were to copy a YouTube video of something like a Lego video, and I took it from someone else, then that would basically be copyright. You're stealing someone else's idea or words and pretending like it's your own. It's like plagiarizing.
We should respect the copyrighted materials of other people because they worked their hardest at making whatever unique idea they did.

Okay, so let's say I copied a video like a movie clip or something. Then I uploaded it to YouTube without saying who it was originally. That's basically plagiarizing AND it's basically copyright stealing.
