Hi there are green lights over were I live and I was wondering if it was the northern lights?

That depends on where you live. The northern lights are occasionally (rarely) seen as far south as southern USA. There are other things that might be green. The planet Venus is green, but that usually shows in early morning. It looks like a little traffic light in the eastern sky. If water gets into one of those transformer boxes, the whole sky will be lit up with green light, but that only happens in heavy rain. Those are all the guesses I have for you.
