Did you play last night?
Why not (did you played last night)?
Is there any reason can clear this to me?
Hi everyone. I have been thinking. We do have to put the verb on the past On the 1st conjunction?

If you use the word "did" it means something happened in the past. In English, that is the only indicator of the past tense needed in these sentences. In this case, it's what we call an auxiliary verb, meaning that it is coupled with a main verb in order to provide more meaning to the sentence. In a sense, "did" modifies "play" to be past tense. "Did you play last night?" and "You played last night?" mean the same thing. Using "did" in this sentence is basically the same as separating the "play" from the "ed" and putting the "ed" somewhere else. Don't feel bad about it, though. English is confusing, man.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "conjunction." There are no conjunctions in that sentence.
Oh, okay. Those are conjugations, not conjunctions. Conjunctions combine sentences or clauses.
You are right. I did not see that because i'm using the auto correction on my phone
As you said they are conjugations not conjunctions
Thanks again.
Thanks for you what I ment by conjunction how to give the different forms of a verb
In English we have 4 conjunctions for any verb
Play- played- played -playing
Go - went - gone - going
