Our trailer is wired strangely, the furnace was spliced into an already hard working circuit. Last night the breaker that the furnace was spliced into blew, I reset the breaker and a few minutes later it blew again. We found out just how wide spread this breaker was (going from hallway light to living room outlets, kitchen outlets, kitchen light and outside light). All outlets and switches on this circuit were very warm to the touch as well as the breaker itself. When the furnace went out we realized that that was the case. We turned off the circuit and plugged 2 space heaters in to the other circuit(that also ran the length of the house). These outlets heated up and blew the circuit. I got the wife and kids out of the house to the in-laws and spent the night with our pets just incase. Our landlord came over and discovered a loose wire in the problem breaker that was sparking intermittently. We also noticed there being a lot of rust in the bottom of the breaker, the ground was melted in spots and there was a few connections where all of the wires weren't quite connected all the way(frayed). I had a space heater and my laptop charging off a kitchen outlet and that was it for that particular circuit, when I unplugged the surge protector you couldn't even touch the plug it was so hot. The landlord turned the breaker I had off on and we unplugged everything. An electrician came over and all he did was add a breaker so the furnace was on it's own circuit. The landlord did not have him check any of the wiring throughout the trailer at the outlets and was in a rush to get him off the clock. They said not to worry about the exposed ground because it was just that, a ground. I don't know if I should bring the wife and kids home for fear of something going wrong. Should I be concerned or not?
all outlets on that circuit are warm to the touch and I only have 1 space heater and my internet plugged in
