HELP! Cold sore problems!?

Details:

I put toothpaste on my cold sore and it just swelled up big ASF. I mean BIG. I'm really scared because I don't want this thing to pop and heal and look gross af.. is there anything that will make the swelling go down? Please :(

Because its outside of your mouth, its best to just leave it alone and try not to get in contact with spicy food or foods that contain acid. Another way is to put neosporn on a band aid and put it over the cold sore, don't press down on it though.
