I would simply ask for the books back, and explain that you lent them to him. Do it respectfully, like pulling him aside and away from everyone. Just say, your teachers name, I really would like to get the books I lent you back. I hope you enjoyed them as much as I do, but I would like to read them again. Thank you for understanding. Your teacher probablly just forgot about you lending them to him and so a simple reminder like the one above will remind him to give them back.
I agree with the other guy; How long ago did u give him your book? I say give it a full 2 weeks!
then later tell your teacher:(after a casual conversation)....by the way I hope you've liked the book that I've lent you.
Now know that sometimes in the English language if you say I'm just giving you something, it means that it is a gift!!! it won't mean that it is being lent. so make sure you don't embarrass the person who is supposed to give you high marks.
