I don't know much about the dos and don'ts on Ramadan, I know that you fast from food and liquids and other vices, but if it's potentially life threatening not to take a medication I hope you would be justified in doing so. I also suggest asking your preacher or one of your elders, I wouldn't want you to do something that you think is wrong.
There is a website called Muslim Health Network.com which talks about taking medications during Ramadan. It says that you should talk to your doctor about the possibility of changing the times you take your medication, like after sunset and before sunrise so you don't have to worry about violating the rules of fasting.
If there's other questions you have Ill do my best answer them and I hope this helps.
thank you. I will do as u say taking right after Maghreb and right before FAIJR. there are no 12 hours between the two posologies..but I think it doesn't matter. dr cannot say me something else except that I should break my fast by that ..and as I don't want. I will do,as u told me.. thank u for the link. I will have a look at that

Salam alikum,
If you have a serious condition and if you can't have your pills any other time like sehri or iftar then I suggest you not to fast.
In ramadan, pills or any medication are supposed to be taken before sunrise or after dawn. If one cannot avoid that then they shouldn't be fasting as it may lead to health issues. Also if you're sick you can skip fasting. People who travel for a long distance can also skip fasting.
During the fast a Muslim cannot eat or drink anything or it will break the fast.
Even swallowing a pill is eating something. That is prohibited during the fast.
However, if you eat or drink anything forgetting about your fast it will not break your fast.
Allah(swt) is the greatest. He has the power of forgiving a persons sins which are as much as of the ocean.
If you can take your medication before sehri or after maghrib, if you can't then In Shaa Allah there won't be a problem.
Jazak Allah khair.
thank you and blessed Ramadan
thank you... trust me.. until yet today I did not take my pills, because I was not sure and was waiting for an answer. a month without my pills at noon can be very dangerous. and even IF I deplace the hours, there will be allways an hour which falls in fasting time. I am an old lady and be sure that I wouldn't do Ramadan if I were here to joke. I cannot ask elders..otherwise I would have done that since long. I am completely alone and there is no musIim community in my little town where I live . so please ask your own Imam for me and send me his answer please.. THANK YOU
